What to Expect During Your Kingston Cake Smash Photo Shoot?
PART 1: Portrait Session
We’ll start with a short portrait session. I’ll photograph your baby wearing your chosen beautiful (and still clean) birthday outfit.
PART 2: The Cake Smash
The main event! Your little one will be presented with their very own 1st birthday cake. Some babies dive right in, while others take a little time to get there, they probably think: really mum, can I eat that cake all by myself?
PART 3: Splash Time
After the messy fun, we’ll end with a warm bath splash session to clean up and capture more adorable smiles.
(Please note, the Signature Collection does not include the Splash Session.)

Pricing - Cake Smash Photoshoot in Kingston, South West London
Giselle Photography’s fees are paid in 2 parts:
• 1st: the deposit or Session Fee of £125, required to secure your booking. This amount will be deducted from your final order.
• 2nd: The remaining cost of your chosen Collection (and additional products if applicable) must be paid on your “In Person Reveal Session”.

FAQs - Your Cake Smash Photoshoot in SW London
When should I schedule a cake smash photoshoot for my baby?
If you’d like to celebrate and treasure this milestone, you could do it before or after your baby’s birthday. If you’d like to use the photos on birthday invitations, thank you cards or to display at their party, you must book a date around 6-8 weeks before the event. This will allow enough time for editing and ordering. Set up a reminder in your calendar when your little one is around 9 months old and get in touch to book your cake smash session well in advance.
Can the rest of the family be included on the shoot?
Sure, we can include the immediate family members for a couple of shots, remember that the star of this photoshoot is the birthday boy/girl. Due to limited space in my studio, I can only accommodate a maximum of 5 family members. Also, I strongly advise to take other siblings for a walk or to be collected by a friend or realtive as they could get bored and even a little jealous during the rest of the cake smash photoshoot when they see their little sibling being the centre of attention and also getting cake.
How do I pick the setting for my session?
Once your booking is officially confirmed, we will work together to plan your Cake Smash setting. I typically aim for a minimalist look to create timeless photographs, adding a pop of colour with props or decorations. However, if you have a specific theme or prefer more colour, we can certainly arrange that. If the theme or props are something I can reuse in future sessions, I will purchase them. If they are unique to your session and won’t be useful for other clients, you will need to purchase them.
Where will my Cake Smash Photoshoot take place?
Your Cake Smash photoshoot will take place at my home studio in New Malden, Kingston Upon Thames. Very near New Malden Station, perfect location for people coming from London & Surrey.

Do you provide the cake? And what happens to the leftover cake?
Yes, I’d like to take most of the stress away so everything is done for you. All my collections include a delicious semi naked cake made by a very talented local baker. Please let me know if your child has any allergies. If by any chance there is any leftover cake, it will packed for you to enjoy at home, if you’d like to take it with you.
How much does a Cake smash Photoshoot cost?

When will we see the photos of our session?
Around 2-3 weeks after your photoshoot, I’ll welcome you back to my studio for your In-Person reveal session.
Do you provide balloons for the setup?
To be completely honest, I am not a big fan of balloons, as they are not environmentally friendly and prefer not to use them.
Common Concerns - Cake Smash Photo Session in Kingston
I’ve got twins; can they do their Cake Smash together?
Absolutely, but please let me know at the time you contact me, as I will need to adjust the fees to cover the extra costs associated with a double (or even triple) session to accommodate them.
Can I bring my own cake?
A semi naked cake is included I the price but if you would like to bring your own you are welcome to do so.
If your child has any allergies please let me know before hand. If you require a specific theme for the cake it can be quoted, too.
Does it really get messy?
Yes, and I can assure you it’s worthy. If your shoot includes the splash, your baby will get a nice warm bubble bath after the smash. If not, bring wipes and towels to give your baby a clean. As the session is done at my studio, I’ll be cleaning up after so nothing to worry about.

Your Cake Smash Photoshoot is officially booked only once the session fee is paid and contract signed.
Step 2
PHONE CONSULTATION
After your Photoshoot is officially booked, we’ll schedule a phone consultation to plan your baby’s cake smash.
During the call I will give you all the information you need, and we’ll plan details and setting for your baby’s cake smash sesion. You’ll be able to let me know your expectations and ask me any questions you may have.

THE BIG DAY!
Your little one’s Cake Smash Photoshoot day is here, how exciting!
The Preparation Guidelines I sent you, prior to your session, should help you prepare for it. Once you are in my home-studio, I’ll do the hard work while you enjoy seeing your baby smash the cake!
Step 4
THE REVEAL SESSION
I’ll welcome you back to my studio to see your images for the 1st time. They’ll be fully edited and professionally printed, ready for you to select.
You’ll get to take your photos on the day and you can place your order for some A la Carte deluxe products if you wish to do so.
